Jamaican Scholarships

General Eligibility
All scholarships are based on both academic merit and financial need. In addition, applicants must be of Jamaican heritage, reside in Jamaica, and be enrolled or accepted in the applicable level of school. Recipients must evidence good character, and optionally, show leadership in their school, community or household. Additional requirements may apply.
Basic School
Nanny Scholarship
The Nanny Scholarships are awarded to qualified children who are enrolled in Basic Schools. These scholarships provide children with transportation, school fees, uniforms, books, school supplies and meals.  
Primary School
Norma Richards Scholarship
The Norma Richards Scholarship is established in the memory of Norma Richards, a most generous human being who always helped children to attend school. Scholarships are awarded to qualified children who are enrolled in Primary School. These scholarships provide children with transportation to and from school and activities, school fees, uniforms, books, school supplies and meals.  
High School
Paul Bogle Scholarship
The Paul Bogle Scholarship is awarded to qualified students who have passed the GSAT exam and will be enrolled in high or secondary schools.  

Desmond Bogle Scholarship
(for Duhaney Park
Primary School graduates)

The Desmond "Clive" Bogle Scholarships are established in the memory of Desmond Bogle, who was a strong proponent of education and lived in Duhaney Park. Scholarships are awarded to qualified students who are graduating or graduated from Duhaney Park Primary School. Scholars must have passed the GSAT exam and will be enrolled in high or secondary schools.
 

Blossom Rose Scholarship
(for Balmagie Primary
School graduates)
The Blossom Rose Scholarship is established in the name of Blossom Rose, a magnificent, generous and tireless teacher who cared about all her students and taught at Balmagie Primary School. Scholarships are awarded to qualified students who are graduating or graduated from Balmagie Primary School.  
University
Joe Higgs
University Scholarship
Joe Higgs University Scholarships are awarded to qualified and talented graduating high and secondary school students who are enrolled or are accepted for enrollment in universities or technical schools in Jamaica.  

Vernice Stubbs Higher Education Sustaining
Scholarship
The Vernice Stubbs Higher Education Sustaining Scholarships are awarded to qualified and talented university and technical students who are attending universities pursuing a first undergraduate degree, but who are in danger of withdrawing due to lack of financial resources.  

Music School:
Joe Higgs Music Scholarship
The Joe Higgs Music Scholarship was created in honor of Joe Higgs, "Father of Reggae Music". Joe Higgs Music Scholarships are awarded to qualified and talented musicians in either of two categories: (1) a student who is enrolled or accepted for enrollment in music school, or (2) a musician (singer, songwriter, instrumentalist) who is an up and coming artist and working to get her or his music out to the public and who will be enrolled in music school.  

Employment Internships:
Marcus Garvey Internship
Marcus Garvey Employment Internships are awarded to university students who have demonstrated high academic achievement in financial need. With practical on the job experiences, students will be better positioned to obtain suitable employment opportunities upon attaining their respective degrees.
