Chiefs of Jamaica Operations:
DERON ARTHUR JONES is the Chief Operating Officer for the Caribbean Education Foundation, Inc. Mr. Jones is a global technology expert and business leader with over 20 years of experience in business, technological development, strategic management, finance, entertainment and nonprofit governance.
He manages and develops key technological resources, to ensure that strategies are implemented to improve the companies’ market agility in the global economy.
As COO, Mr. Jones directs the daily operations of the Caribbean Education Foundation. He successfully administers all matters as it relates to program development, scholarship awards, personnel, events, finances, fundraising, sponsors and donors accountability.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Jones held a number of executive and senior level positions in varied business environments, including technology and the financial industries. Notably, Mr. Jones served as the Assistant Vice President of Credit Suisse First Boston in New York City. In addition, he has worked as Director in Information Technology, Software Development and Strategic Planning to a number of significant investment banks and corporations, markedly Micro Edge, Bear Stearns and Spherion Corporation in New York City and Miami.
In addition to his work on behalf of CEF, Mr. Jones serves on the board of directors of a number of nonprofit organizations, which work to increase educational access for underserved youths within the greater New York City metro area and continental Africa, such as the Georges Malaika Foundation.
As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Jones brings an elevated level of expertise, which encompasses all crucial branches of the Caribbean Education Foundation to ensure solid success. His astute technological and financial knowledge will prove invaluable to enable development of CEF’s strategic growth, partnerships and technological advancements to enhance the organization’s efficiency in the 21st Century and beyond.
